As Black Women we are lacking taking care of our health. We are so busy taking care of everyone else that we don’t take time to take care of our health. This newsletter is a wakeup call for me and you please read the statistics and demand that your Obgyn/ Family Doctor test you for all these major diseases killing our black women. It is time for us as children of God to take care of our physical bodies as well as our spiritual needs.

 If you are concerned about the cost remember it could cost you your life. We spend so much on our clothes, makeup, jewelry and accessories. Today it is time to make the biggest investment in your life (your health)

Did you know….

Heart Disease is the leading cause of death In Black Women.

Black Women have the highest age-adjusted mortality rate from heart disease.

Risk Factors:

Cigarette smoking, alcohol, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, inadequate physical activity and obesity.

Did You Know…..

HIV/AIDS

The leading cause of death in the U.S among black women ages 25-34.

The third leading cause of death in the U.S among black women ages 35-44.

Among women 71% of the 4500 newly diagnosed cases are black women.

Black Women are over 21 times likely to die from this disease because of not getting tested, delayed treatment

Risk Factors:

Unprotected sex, drug use, increased heterosexual contact, psychological issues.

Cancer is the second leading cause of death among black women

Get your Pap test once a year………

If Cancer is in your family get tested every 6 months, demand it.

Ovarian Cancer is called the Silent Killer because there are few symptoms for this disease. The symptoms are abdominal swelling and gastric problems and are not noticed in early stages of this disease. Most Doctors don’t test you unless someone else in your family had the disease. Talk to your Doctor and insist that they test you for every major cause death in black women.

African Americans are more likely to develop Cancer than any other race.

Lupus

Lupus- is a chronic auto-immune, inflammatory, multisystem disease.

Currently it is not known what causes this disease.

The death rate from Lupus among black women rose by 70%

God has truly shifted my focus to the health state of Black Women today and charged me to inform His children.

If your reason for not going to the doctor or getting a follow up check up is fear. Remember God is not of fear. That is the trick of the enemy.
